Shines

Last night Mr. Bella and I were treated to a fabulous concert. State Shines is a gathering of singer/songwriters in a beautiful, lovely, old theatre that has just celebrated it's 100th birthday. We had expected it to be a bluegrass event (which Mr. Bella loves) but it turned out to be a mix of bluegrass, bohemian, and eclectic type music. Ah! Fabulous for a Wednesday night.

There is a couple that we, well, kind of know I suppose. Yet we introduced them at the S wedding last year.

Let's see, so I know girl M mostly through her sister and the bride of said wedding. Both are in my bunco group and she often joins when we need a sub. I know guy M, well, because he was my escort up and down the aisle at said wedding!

At the rehearsal we were doing our practice walk back up the aisle and both made a random smartarse comment at the end. I don't remember what it was but you can be sure it was smartarsed! So instantly we were friends.

Later that evening he was placed next to Mr. Bella and I at the rehearsal dinner. We began to chat and we both really liked him. He had a great personality and sense of humor. I thought he was rather cute as well. It was a shame to learn he was single! He was a hot commodity! Furthermore I know tons of single gals, but nary a single guy.

"I told Mr. Bella we should introduce him to someone."

"We shouldn't meddle in other people's business!"

"But I can't really thing of a single girlfriend right off."

"We shouldn't meddle in other people's business!"

"C wants J to quit dating her loser boyfriend, but they are still together."

"We shouldn't meddle in other people's business!"

"It should be someone at the wedding, less awkward and we'll probably never see him again."

"We shouldn't meddle in other people's business!"

"Oh...how about MJgirl? Oh nevermind she's bringing her kind of boyfriend."

"We shouldn't meddle in other people's business!"

"Honeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! Help me think!"

"What about Smith's sister?"

"Really? M? You think? That would be perfect! I'll ask her!"

So there you go! I asked Mgirl if she would meet Mguy. Then told Mguy that he just had to meet Mgirl. Mgirl was at our table so I brought him over. They talked all night and she told me he got her number.

I wasn't sure he'd ask.

I wasn't sure he'd call.

I wasn't sure they'd actually go out.

Now three months later they are very together, very happy about that, and treated us to a concert as a thanks!

The concert was fabulous and so was the company. We decided they'd make great couple friends. We get along great and we have wedding couple in common too.

Oh, and they visisted the bar as often as we did during the concert.

One of those days I should have stayed in bed

Yes, that was today!

First of all my sewing machine broke late last week. UGH! My sewing machine is my thing and well, I kind of need it. I'd called the model dealer and repairman last week and they had one part that should be $16.95 plus tax.

Fab! I'll be there!

I go in Monday and turns out I described the wrong piece/they understood the wrong piece, they're greedy bastards and I obviously only know how to operate my machine and otherwise am an idiot and actually it would cost a low, low $148.95 to repair and oh would I like to have it serviced while I'm there?

Machine and I walked out.

Then we move on to my computer, who has slowly but surely been dying. The blue screen of death is rampant. But lately it had been behaving quite nicely. Going several days before giving me the blue screen and forcing me to reboot. It was blueing out everytime I'd attempt to send an email, or upload a photo.

Fast forward to today. I show up to the clergy's office. I'd been doing a little PR work for the church and needed to convert the files I'd given him to something he could read. My computer boots up to the blue screen of death.

One....
Two...
Three...
Four...
Five times!

I give up!

It's rainy and cold and windy and dark outside.

I decided a little workout on my exercise ball while watching the show I recorded last night will rejuvenate me. I need to snap out of it because I have quite a list of things to accomplish today.

I put on my yoga clothes, get on the exercise ball, and rewind the tape (shut up! we've not moved into this century with DVR!) and prepare to have a better day.

But then....

Oh then....

I find out I FREAKING RECORDED THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL INSTEAD OF TLC!

!!!!
!!!!
!!!!

I contemplated baking myself a pan of brownies and then eating them all before anyone came home. But this is the day I'd burn the house down.

Clearly I should have stayed in bed.

Whoop! There she is!

Hey There! Look who's back....again!

Geesh I had the best intentions of returning to blogland in November. I was even prepared to backtrack and predate all the great stories of the two months you missed (I keep great notes in a planner in my purse). But, go figure, life got in the way of that one!

So maybe one day, if you're really lucky, really, really, lucky, I'll fill in all of those good times. But since I miss my daily writing outlet, I'm going forward.

No joke this time.

Really, I am.

Hey.....(tap, tap, tap) is this thing on??

Anyone left out there?
