Urgent Question (about moisturizer)

Help me Internet!

My night-time moisturizer isn't available anywhere! I use a day and night moisturizer, both by Dove. In fact my face wash and toner is by Dove as well (except for my in-shower face was which is Loreal). I like to use a day moisturizer with SPF so that is unacceptable to use at night. Why is it so hard to find Dove products for the face?

I considered branching out which would be fine and all except other night-time moisturizers were near twenty dollars. Do you know anything about me?

So here is where I need help because you guys are so better than Google. Tell me about your face routine. What products do you use and like and what products should I stay away from? I'm open to new ideas and if that means (gasp!) donating my kidney for face moisturizer then I guess that's what I'll have to do. However with your reviews at least I'll find a good one and not waste tons of money sampling.

I'll go first. I wash my face at night. If I take shower I use the Loreal Pure Zone (blue bottle) for washing my face. Otherwise, I use a Dove cream face wash. I also wash my face in the morning. Same as above for in-shower or over the sink. No rhyme or reason to this method, it's just that one bottle is in the shower and the other in the drawer at the sink.

In the morning I use Dove Essentials Day Lotion with SPF. Then I put on my make-up as usual.

At night I use Clinique Take-off-the-Day Make-up Remover. I also use a Dove Clarifying Toner, a Clinique All About Eyes Rich Eye Cream and then the Dove Essentials Overnight Moisturizer.

I'd like to continue with roughly the same process as in cleanse, tone, moisturize. I'm open to any product or any mix of products if that is the case. I really like Dove because it's good for my semi-sensitive skin and seems to do the trick. I began using a few years ago when I realized I was (gasp!) approaching my mid-twenties (I lost track of time as I had four birthday celebrations for my 21st Birthday--GFTS would love to tell you about the second one, really she would! Go ask her.) and needed to move beyond Clean & Clear and take better care of my skin. (Nothing wrong with Clean & Clear, I loved it for about ten years. I just feel that it's a bit young for me and doesn't provide the care and anti-aging I want for my skin).

So go--give me the low-down on your routine, favorite products, what you hate, and recommendations for me since I'm running out of my old faithfuls!

Well, I'm afraid my routine will be of little use to you. I have super oily and breakout prone skin, so I use the Clean & Clear Dual Action moisturizer. It works pretty well for keeping my skin from being super oily and yucky, so I have a feeling that as long as that is an issue, I will continue to use it! Good luck finding a new product. I hate it when my fave products are discontinued!

I've run into the same problem with Dove. They made an awesome hair mousse that I can't find anymore. My routine is so simple, I'm not sure it's the best but my skin is fairly good. I use Neutrogena cream cleanser in the shower or Mary Kay make-up removal wipes, Clean and Clear astringent and Johnson's baby lotion all over. My tastes are simple. I find that when I try ne things I'm usually disappointed even when I've spent and arm and a leg. I'll be interested to see everyone's suggestions too! Good question.

Hmmm, well, I might not be of much help, but I really like Oil Of Olay (spelling?). The face wash & lotion are like $6 each, but I think they work pretty well.

Okay, I'm the Mary Kay lady, so you pretty much know what I'm going to tell you. :) Sometimes I try new things for fun, but of course I'll never admit that to anyone (hmm, just wrote that to the entire internet... that counts as "anyone"). Anyway, at night I use the MK facial cleansing cloths because I'm way too lazy to do anything else. I use Maybeline eye make-up remover if I don't have MK on stock. I use 5 squirts of MK Night Solution, a squirt of moisturizer, and sometimes if I remember 3 squirts of MK Even Complextion essence (squirt, squirt, squirt!). I also use the MK eye cream.
It only takes like 4 minutes- I promise.
I the morning I use Timewise cleanser, MK Day Solution, and mositurizer. In the summer I'll wear more sunscreen though. I also use the eye cream.
One to two times a week I do the MK Microdermabrasion. It's wonderful.
Whew. I'm tired!

I also have been a Dove Girl.....until I found Aveeno. I LOVE it! I use the Complete Radiance Line. Gentle Cleanser in and out of the shower, the day lotion and the eye brightner. I also use Ponds cleansing cloths if I'm too lazy to was my face....which I usually am! (shhh...don't tell!)

Well, as the chiropractor's wife, I have been tasked with changing up all my stuff because I'm supposed to start avoiding anything with parabens in them. Apparently these little babies cause cancer...thanks, I'll pass.

That said, I tend to not wash my face with products too often because it's kind of dry. If I feel the need, I use some plain ol' glycerin soap. Exciting stuff. What I do every morning, though, is moisturize.

I used to use Oil of Olay, but they have parabens so I now am (on recommendation from my husband, my allergy chiropractor lady and mercola.com) using virgin coconut oil as my moisturizer. So far, I am not minding it too much. I just have to be careful about how much I put on because too much puts a bit too much shine on the face.

So there's a really off the wall option for you. Even if you don't choose it, do yourself a favor and avoid those parabens. I think Arbonne and Aubrey Organics has some parabeen free options...

I have never heard of parabens! I'll have to check into that. I've used Arbonne but can't justify such an expense. I have a friend who is a consultant and she gives me goodies often. I think I might go the Aveeno route since I've heard lots of good things about it. I'm also considering Mary Kay (brittny--are you proud?) I'll keep the virgin coconut oil in mind--but I'm already a bit oily.

Thanks to all of you for the wonderful suggestions! I'm sure they've helped out more than just me!

I like the Oil of Olay night cream, and I also like an Avon kind I just started using.
