Obsession with Multiples

I have a mad obsession with multiples, much to J's chagrin. He thinks I'm dooming us to have multiples. That, however, would be fine with me. Then I could really justify not going back to work. Oops! Did I write that? What I meant was I'd only be fat and preggars and cranky once. (That's all I meant honey, really!) I'd like triplets. Three kids, one labor, the end! Woo Hoo!

I love all those shows about multiples on TLC and Discovery Health. Jon and Kate Plus 8 is my favorite! J and I are a lot like Jon and Kate (he's laid back and easy going, she's high strung and demanding) so it's especially entertaining for us. I also like the specials about the quadruplet girls in Kentucky. Cutest things ever those Mathias girls. And identical--Wow! And how about The Duggar Family? It never gets old to me. Ever. I can watch the same special a dozen times and I still sit, mesmerized, unable to turn it off. (By the way, their newest special will be on September 18. I realize this makes me a huge dork to know, but I'm quite exited. It's on my Google calendar!) There not really multiples, but do have two set of twins. But something about having a soccer team is appealing to me as well.

Why the obsession? I don't really know. I hope it means I'm destined for multiples. Because, as I've noted, there could be perks!

Anyone else on this train, or is it just me? (Feel free to throw out comments that I'm crazy and all, but please, be kind. I'm fragile!)

Okay, I'll be the first to say it. You are certifiably crazy! LOL ~ but I still love ya. :p I have to ask though...why do you want multiples? Is it because of the perks? Better you than me, my dear. I've already had 1 ~ that was hard enough on the checking account, the sleep routine, and the overall adjustment to parenthood. LOL.
I hope that if you're destined to have multiples, that they are a result of your first pregnancy. Anything after a single birth, I would think would make a set of parents crazy. We have already been there and done that.

I'm not sure why I have such an obsession, it's just so intriguing (sp?) to me, I'm facinated. I have no (ABSOLUTELY NO!)plans of having 17 kids, or even 7, or even 5! But up to four is fair game at this point! :)

While I'm not multiples obsessed...I can watch pretty much any show on TLC or Discovery about a million times before getting bored with it. The other night I watch a show on primordial dwarves for like the 8th time. So I'd vote...not crazy!

Twins I could do...but any more a big NO.

For us, twins would be ok, but I wouldn't want anymore at once. Obviously, if we were to end up with more, it would still be ok...haha! More than twins is not how we would choose to do it, but most times you don't get to choose. We personally don't want to have more than two biological children (don't want to add to overpopulation problems down the road for future generations), so twins would def. be ok for me as far as getting it all over with at once. It definitely sounds more efficient... and I'm all about being efficient! Although, I would say that you do sound a little obsessed with the whole multiple thing...

I used to have those same sentiments, but I've wised up. J/K, of course!! Actually Jay's Grandma is betting on which one of us will have the multiple birth. Apparently this is the generation it should hit, it that's even more than an old wives' tale. We shall see...

It is interesting. My sister and SIl date twin brothers. Sometimes that's a cool thing, but most times not so much!

I'd love to have twins or triplets. Multiples run in my family, so I pray that one day I'll have set.

Now that I think about it, you J are a lot like Jon and Kate. Pop some fertility drugs and welcome to your future, Mrs. M.

When you have multiples, people give you free stuff. Think of all the discounts you'd get.

OK, I don't want more than 1 baby at a time, but I'm with you on the TV shows. I can't get enough of Jon & Kate Plus 8 or the Duggars (you know the Duggars live in my state, right?). I could watch those shows OVER & OVER AGAIN!!

I ALWAYS wanted twins. When I found out I was having a set, I nearly combusted. I couldn't BELIEVE it. It's like saying "I always wanted to win the lottery"--and then finding out you JUST DID!

I made it in! I wanted twins so baaaaad. Now that I've had one, I can't imagine not going completely insane had I received my wish. :)

Jon and Kate Plus 8 is such a cute show, I like that one too. My best friend, who also has a blog - Bonnie, is obsessed with that show. I hope that your dream comes true and you have multiples! When I was a little girl I always said I wanted 4 kids: a boy, then a girl, then twins. Now, I am not so sure anymore that I want that many (especially since husband only wants 1), but I still think multiples are fascinating! I think it's so neat and wouldn't mind that happening to me either.

I think twins are wonderful!!! because I have an identical twin. I hope Rusti and Kelsi both have a set of twins their first time around :)Twins run on both side of my father's side of the family.
