Stainless Assistance

First, go visit my friend Brittny (then come back because I have a pressing question for you!) She has a crush on me and I kind got all giddy inside when I read it. You see, I was a lurker at Brittny's place on her old blog. I lurked and lurked before I ever commented. To learn that we have mutual crushes was exciting. I think we'll start dating soon. She likes chicken and dumplin's you know.

Truthfully, Brittny made my day when I read her blog, it has a been a not so great day(s) and that made me smile.

Ok, you back? I have a big question. My stainless steel knives are well, staining. I have a big block of kitchen aid that we recieved as a wedding gift, so they're a little over a year old. They are getting little rust like spots on them and I'm not sure why or how to clean them. I only handwash them and they don't sit in water very long. I usually sit them in the dry sink and was them all at once and dry immediatly and put them away. So, any suggestions? How can I get them all sparkly again?

While you're at it, some of my flatware is doing the same. Of course, (ahem, J) I may just (really, honey!) need new flatware (real bad) because our current set is about two years old (really need new flatware!). I bought it for myself just before we were engaged and we never registered for it because it wasn't necessary.

Please people--help me! Please, please, pretty please.

Those were the greatest gifts that you sent Brittny!! WOW!! I'm impressed and hoping that I'll get hooked up with you for a future swap. LOL.
I too lurk on Brittny's blog. She's so funny and cool...and well, my blog is so not. I've lurked since she had her old blog. Maybe one of these days I should comment, huh? Let her know that I lurk...let her know that I know all about how her and her DH went to the Superbowl...blah, blah, blah. I'm a stalker too. But the worst kind...I'm a secret stalker.
I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions about the knives or flatware. I'm having the same problems. My Mom bought us some Ginsu knives a couple of years ago and they're, well, crap. They've got little rust spots too and I'm about to trash them. I'll be checking back to see if any one else has ideas...my rust spots are in between the grooves on the knife blade. It's so not cool trying to get them out!
I hope that you start feeling better soon. These things take some time though...hang in there, okay?

I don't know if this helps but I am a Princess House Consultant and they have beautiful stainless steel flatware, as well as knives. If you'd be interested, check out www.princesshouse.com or e-mail me at melissatroyer@myprincesshouse.com
Thanks!

I thought I was your one and only. {{Sitting here at work crushed and crying}}, but I understand - it's Brittny!

I've SO missed you!!

Hmmm, how to get rust off knives. I have no idea because I'm going through the same thing with mine. So, if you find out let me know.

On the Beagle situation, let me know when you decide on that, too. Oh, you can borrow Maisy any time you want! You just let me know! :0)

Your gifts to Brittny were awesome! I'm sorry I'm just now getting around to reading your blog...I've had the link ever since I signed up for summer swap! Geesh! Anyway, my blog is private, so if you would like to read it, send me an email at kassieh@gmail.com and I'll send ya an invite.

Let us know if you figure out the rust problem on your knives, because I too have the SAME problem. I just thought it was because I don't have very good ones. I need to learn how to take care of this before I do get good ones!

This is my first time visiting your blog (I saw it on Jenny and Brittny's, and curiosity took over). If you use your knives to cut an onion, it is supposed to help take the rust off. I'm not totally sure if it works, but I've heard it a few places.

Good luck!

wow...no idea on the knife thing. I have carbon steel Rada knives and DH and I go circles over Me:"Why did you put my knives in the dishwasher?!?"
DH:"I didn't"
Me: "well you must have because there are corrosion marks on the (aluminum) handles"

You're such a nicey! I love how we can come out in the open and declare our mutual blog crush. Sigh... what a great feeling. ha ha. seriously, though, I heard something about you going private! I read it a few posts down. If you do, well, please be sure to add me to your list. It would totally suck if I had to fly to the states and cry at your doorstep. Not to mention embarrassing and pathetic.

Oh- and I've got no help on the rust. I'm pretty useless with that stuff. :(
