Autumn is in the Air

Autumn came in last week and didn't even knock. I walked out the door one morning and suddenly there he was with chilly weather and dew on the grass. It seemed so sudden but then again it is September. Even the 85 degree afternoon sun felt cooler. Well, it was cooler compared to the heat wave of 105 degrees and the Caribbean of 125 degrees.

I love these days of autumn before it gets too cold. However much like the days of spring they're all too short. I do love getting out my long sleeves and jackets, putting on a sweater and going to a football game, building a fire and sitting on the patio, eating soup, firing up the grill for smokey barbecued ribs, watching the leaves change and fall, planting mums, hiking in the mountains, having hot apple cider, visiting a pumpkin patch and corn maze, going on a hayride, taking road trips, baking pies......

What do you love about autumn?

I love all the things about Fall that you do, and a couple to include are:
1. Raking leaves in a big pile (sick, I know) 2.Cleaning out the flowerbeds and putting them to sleep for winter. Looks like I actually got something accomplished this year:) 3.A nice walk on a crisp autumn day just lifts my spirits. 4. A bonfire and cuddling with my hubby :) 5. Dipping graham crackers in hot chocolate.
I would love to have time to can veggies and fruits again. Make jam, all that 'homey' stuff. But hey, another 15 years and I can retire!!!

I think you pretty much mentioned the things I love about Autumn too. Ummm, I also like getting the Starbucks seasonal drink of pumpkin spice lattes!

I love the holidays. I love when the weather starts to turn cooler. Its time then for cute sweaters and dressing in layers.

Can I come to your house when you bake the pies and grill the ribs??

This is my favorite time of year. I love all of your favorites. I need to get some mums and pansies. I also love to get out our fall decorations. I'm a sucker for Halloween, too!
